Solved Question

How can to revive a dried up serrisa?

So I left my serrisa at home over the weekend. It's been healthy thus far and I made sure I thoroughly watered it before I left. I also keep it on a humidity tray.

I just got back this evening and to my shock the leaves were crispy and dried out. Although, they are for the most part still green aren't falling off.

How can I revive it?

Hi Tanlu,

I hate to say this, but it may not be possible to revive the Serrisa. Have you tried bending / cutting a branch. If you see a bit of green and/or the branch bends (not break), then you should be fine. It's also possible that only a section of your tree is dead.

Do not fertilize your bonsai. You never want to fertilize a weak tree. I would also remove all of the dry / dead leaves. You can to conserve your trees energy. And finally, make sure your bonsai is getting as much humidity as possible. Meaning, if it's near a vent, heater, etc... move it elsewhere. I've heard of people creating a greenhouse for their weak bonsai trees using plastic bags. I have never tried this, but others have discussed this method on other online communities.
